OMG yet again

I was walking through the hall today holding hands with another girl. pretty normal in my school, since best friends do it all the time. but my situation was quite a little different: this girl was my girlfriend, (yes my girlfriend, as in were dating, as in she's my significant other) and thats a pretty known fact around. so as we are walking we pass someone with a visitors pass. could've been a teacher, could've been a mother, idk who she was but she definitely had a staring problem. as my "friend" and i passed she gave our hands dirty looks, like it was a sin against humanity that they were entertwined. both my "friend" and i were a little confused by her facial expression, and so when we looked at her, she avoided our gaze. it was like she thought we were diseased. i guess people dont understand how when they do things like this, i consider it a hate crime, because they have the disgust written all over their face. its not that its bothering, but its annoying. its obvious that in our society gays are frowned upon. so why remind us rainbow people every day?
what ever happened to the harmony?
am i the only one who thinks this is wrong?

  1. This is soo true. Everyone should be allowed to be who they are and what makes them happy. And this also makes people feel uncomfortable and that is more than just a hate crime. Everyone may have their opinions of what's right and normal, but what is normal to them isn't normal to everyone. Just because they don't believe or approve of a certain thing, doesn't mean that they ahve the right to criticize the ones whom they deem different. Normalness is in the eye of the beholder and the eye is different each time. who cares if somebody is a rainbow person, what matters is who the perosn is and their personality, not who they date!
